Lovell's crawler nearly conquers the hill, but the engine catches fire at the top. After nearly completing the course, they lost a belt and the engine overheated. Near the peak, it caught fire.

Officials had Lovell shutdown, called for timeout, and broke out the fire extinguishers. During recovery, it was reported that the engine had also siezed as a result.
